FLSAOM professors, Dr. Aizhong Li and Dr. Phil Garrison, pose with their copy of the Journal of Chinese Medicine, which contains an article they co-authored.

This article presents four case studies from Dr. Shentian Sun's clinical experience treating pain syndromes of the shoulder, heel, low back, and knee.

For each case, the symptoms, diagnosis, acupoint selection, needling techniques, and clinical outcomes are discussed.

Fun fact: Dr. Sun was Dr. Li’s mentor at Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, where she received her PhD!

Yesterday, Dr. Aizhong Li and I were excited to receive our copy of the Journal of Chinese Medicine, which features an article we co-authored.

This article presents four case studies from Dr. Shentian Sun's clinical experience treating pain syndromes of the shoulder, heel, low back, and knee.

For each case, the symptoms, diagnosis, acupoint selection, needling techniques, and clinical outcomes are discussed.

In addition to our article, this issue features selected point descriptions from Michael Brown's translation of the Jingxue Jie, a clinical discussion of bloodletting by Dean Mouscher, and many other articles on topics of interest.

AcuTalks

Who is an acupuncturist? What does an acupuncturist do? What is acupuncture training like? Check out this phenomenal video from AcuTalks.

Today I Graduate.

If there was one Graduation Gift I could ask from you, it would be to Watch this video and SHARE it with others. Tag an Acupuncturist, share it with someone that gets Acupuncture. Help raise awareness about our story and what we provide.

Today marks a pivotal moment for my classmates and I to receive our Master of Science Degree and become Acupuncturists.

But while Acupuncture is becoming popular in mainstream medicine, we can still do more to educate and clear up common misunderstandings surrounding it.

Acupuncture Medicine can address a wide variety of health issues such as allergies, eczema, depression and musculoskeletal disorders. It can be instrumental in combating large issues such as the opioid epidemic, chronic pain (which is costing the U.S. over $700 Billion annually), and even infertility.

This profession is having a profound impact on modern medicine. It has already supported countless individuals and communities worldwide for healthcare.

But more outreach is needed to raise awareness and connect practitioners with those who are in need of it.

We're here to empower patients, provide quality healthcare in a cost effective manner, as well as provide preventative healthcare.

So, in the spirit of Graduation and our next adventure, SHARE this video if you Love Acupuncture and this message resonates with you :)

Check this blog out! Lots of useful information on Eastern Dietary Therapy written by Amber Myerowitz and Samantha Gendron (graduates of FLSAOM).
Hi everyone. I hope you dont mind that I post here if its not appropriate please delete. I am a graduate of FLSOAM and I wanted to inquire to see if anyone had interest in possibly joining the staff at The University of Rochester Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Dept in a part time role. The program is blossoming and I am looking to add a second acupuncturist. The position will begin as a part time role with hourly pay with the possibility to grow into a full time full benefit position. We have 2 locations Penfield and Brockport. Preferred canidates would have a solid base in the treatment of sports injury/chronic/acute injuries. Preferably motor point acupuncture/neurofunctional acupuncture. I am willing to take on an acupuncturist willing to learn these techniques if not already well versed. If you or anyone you know has interest please email me your CV: [email protected] Have a great day!
