Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Psi Sigma Omega Chapter proudly hosted the *Mental Wellness Fair: Mind Matters, Breaking the Stigma* at Johnston Community College, and what an incredible day it was for Johnston County and our surrounding community. The energy, engagement, and support throughout the event truly demonstrated the power of community service, collaboration, and compassion in action.
This event embodied the spirit of *Res Non Verba* — “Deeds, Not Words.” Today was about uplifting our community, creating safe spaces for dialogue, connecting individuals with resources, and reminding people that mental wellness matters.
We are deeply grateful to all of the vendors, community partners, and wellness organizations who shared their expertise, resources, and passion throughout the day. Your presence helped make this event informative, welcoming, and impactful for so many attendees.
A special thank you goes to our phenomenal panelists who opened the day with authentic, powerful, and insightful discussions surrounding mental health and wellness. The sessions were amazing, and attendees asked thoughtful questions focused on supporting themselves, their families, and their communities.
Special recognition also goes to the planning committee whose hard work and dedication helped bring this fantastic event to life for Johnston County. Thank you to the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. serving Johnston County for helping us set up for this awesome event and for supporting the spirit of community collaboration.
In the continued spirit of service, the chapter also donated the remaining lunch meals to the Boys and Girls Club of Johnston County so the impact of the day could continue beyond the event itself.
Today was impactful. Today was uplifting. Today was service in action.
