Happy Birthday Christopher Robin!

Today, August 21, 2026 would be Christopher Robin Milne’s 106th Birthday.

Christopher Robin was born August 21, 1920. He would be gifted the stuffed bear (originally called Edward Bear) that would inspire Winnie-the-Pooh on his first birthday in 1921.

A.A. Milne bought the bear at Harrods department store in London. Christopher later changed the name of the stuffed bear to Winnie after a Canadian black bear in the London Zoo named Winnie, short of Winnipeg whom he loved to visit. Pooh was the name of a friend’s pet swan whom Christopher liked to feed. Soon the stuffed bear was named Winnie-the-Pooh and would become the beloved character we know today in the works of Christophers father A. A. Milne.
