Our program is somewhat unique in that the curriculum emphasizes the importance of values and professional behavior. We believe that values drive behavior and thus we have selected ten core values that we believe are essential to professional behavior. We also believe that professional behaviors are fundamental to the most effective application of cognitive knowledge and clinical psychomotor skill
s. Therefore, our curriculum has been designed with an “affective” foundational core. Principles and applications of values and professional behaviors are interwoven in courses throughout the foundational sciences, clinical sciences, behavioral sciences, clinical practice, and research. Throughout the curriculum, the student is provided with many opportunities to develop professional behavior during interactive lectures, small group discussions, group projects, laboratory sessions, laboratory practical examinations, full-time clinical internships, and interactions with peers and faculty.
