Succeed = Non-degree seekers, Plus = Graduates of Succeed, and Link = UMSL undergraduate certificate and degree seekers. The University of Missouri - St. Louis Office of Inclusive Postsecondary Education (UMSL OIPE) welcomes students with a high school diploma and a documented intellectual or developmental disability. We have three programs available for the neurodivergent community: Succeed, Succ

eed+, and Link. Qualified students may work towards a 2-year Chancellor's Certificate and industry-specific credentials or, if in the Link program, may pursue a certificate or Bachelor's Degree. Our mission is empowerment through education. We collaborate with university and community partners in providing courses, vocational training, and self-determination strategies for all our students. They are fully immersed in university life, with learning accommodations offered as determined. Students have the option to commute or reside within the UMSL campus.

This was taken on August 21, 2026, after the New Student Convocation ceremony held at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center. About 1.6k first-year students are enrolled at this fall semester. Team members from the University of Missouri-St. Louis UMSL: College of Education and UMSL Office of Inclusive Postsecondary Education represented The Lou at the annual Southeast Post Secondary Education Alliance (SEPSEA) Conference held in New Orleans from May 20 - 22, 2026.

UMSL College of Education Associate Dean Dr. April Regester, Midwest Inclusive Post Secondary Alliance (MIPSA) Regional Coordinator Mary Harden, and UMSL OIPE Sr. Communications and Events Coordinator Aina Ferris facilitated a presentation penned by OIPE Director Dr. Jonathan Lidgus on "The Expectation Game: Aligning Student and Family Goals for Inclusive Success". They also attended a number of breakout sessions on subject matters such as AI and how it impacts employment for individuals with disabilities; using generative AI for self-determination goal setting; strategic planning for IPSE (Inclusive Post Secondary Education) program sustainability.
