If you are a Junior or Senior and interested in learning how to engage in undergraduate research on Asia, Asian America, and Global Asias, you are welcome to take our department's proseminar AAS 401 (3 cr, WRTD, SPK, Tu 12:30–3:20 pm, see the attachment). You will have the chance to present your work at the URECA Symposium and the AAAS Student Symposium in early May, which will strengthen your future academic and professional profile and demonstrate your leadership. This will be a meaningful experience to have before you graduate.
This course counts toward the AAS major/minor and the CNS and JNH minors if your topic is appropriate and relevant. It may also count toward other minors in our department (AAM, KOR, RLS, SOA) with the minor director’s permission. We can also accept students from other majors and minors, such as Business, if they are interested in learning how to conduct interdisciplinary research related to Asia, Asian America, and Global Asias. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
Please note that you will need permission to register for AAS 401 from Prof. Oyama.
