Election Day is Tomorrow April 7!

Over the past months, I’ve had the honor to talk with many of you about the future of East Central College and I want to leave you with what I stand for:

Fiscal Responsibility- Your tax dollars should be respected and used wisely. I have a voting record that stands tall with taxpayers, students and teachers. I will push for transparency and accountability in ever decision.

Career Focused Education- College isn’t one size fits all. We must continue strengthening skilled trades, workforce training, and real world career pathways that lead to good paying jobs.

Community Connection- Strong partnerships with local businesses and industries ensure our students are prepared for real opportunities right here in our own community.

I’ve spent the last two years attending board meetings, listening and learning. I’ve serving on a local school board and built my own businesses form the ground up. I understand responsibility, accountability, and the importance of earning your trust.

I also want to address a tough but important reality: with state funding for higher education declining, difficult financial decisions may be ahead. That’s not always a popular conversation but it’s an honest one. It’s exactly why it’s so important for people to stay informed, attend meetings, and be part of the process.

This campaign has been about people, conversations, and shared goal of making East Central College stronger for the next generation.

I would be honored to have your vote.

Vote April 7 Paul Gross East Central College Board of Trustees.

To STACY LANGAN since comments were turned off on your post bashing certain candidates, I wanted to respectfully respond here so voters can hear directly from me. With respect, I think that's a misleading way to frame this race, especially coming from someone in a leadership role at the college. I'm absolutely for students, workforce training, and strengthening our community. That's exactly why I believe accountability and transparency matter. Supporting students doesn't mean automatically supporting every request for more taxpayer money with out clear results and a plan. I've attended board meetings for the past two years because I care about getting this right, not just repeating talking points. (You should know that Stacy you were there as the executive assistant to the president of ECC!) Voters deserve honest, complete information, not simpified narratives that try to divide candidatres into categories that don't reflect reality! East Central College

Don’t make post you can not back up, I start asking for source information and comments start getting deleted how convenient!

I just want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has supported me during this campaign. The encouragement, conversations, and willingness of people to step up and help has meant a lot to me and my family. Whether you’ve shared a post, put up a sign, helped spread the word, or simply offered a kind word, I truly appreciate it.

Over the past several months, I’ve had the chance to talk with many people in our community. I’ve heard a lot of stories—about students, families, employers, and educators. Those conversations have been incredibly valuable to me. They remind me why Central College plays such an important role in our region and why strong leadership on the Board of Trustees matters.

The best ideas don’t come from one person—they come from listening to the people who care about their community.

If you have thoughts, concerns, ideas, or stories about East Central College, I’d truly like to hear from you. My door is always open and I believe good leadership starts with listening.

Thank you again for the support, the conversations, and the encouragement. It means more than you know.

THANK YOU!

Skilled trades built our communities — and they will shape our future.

For too long, careers in the trades have been overlooked, even though they provide good-paying jobs, real opportunities, and a direct path to success without overwhelming student debt. As our workforce continues to change, Central College has an important responsibility to strengthen and expand programs that prepare students for careers as electricians, welders, mechanics, technicians, and other in-demand trades.

We need to refocus on practical education that meets the needs of local employers and gives students the skills to succeed right here at home. Investing in skilled trades means supporting families, growing our local economy, and creating affordable pathways to stable careers.

I believe East Central College must prioritize workforce education, rebuild trust with taxpayers, and ensure every dollar helps students gain real-world skills that lead to real opportunities.

Strong trades. Strong workforce. Strong community.

I’m incredibly grateful for the friends, family, and supporters who have stepped up to help place signs, spread the word, and encourage others to get involved. This campaign isn’t about one person — it’s about our community coming together for strong, responsible leadership and a brighter future for East Central College.

Thank you to everyone who believes in this mission and is willing to put in the time and effort to make it happen. Your support means more than you know. Let’s keep the momentum going!

I’m proud to announce that I am running for East Central College Board of Trustees.
(April 7th)
I’ve been married to my wife, Leslie, for 18 years, and together we have two kids, Ivy (13) and Paul (9). I’m a lifelong resident who believes in hard work, personal responsibility, and giving back to the place that has given my family so much.
For more than 20 years, I’ve been self-employed as a state-licensed electrician and a federally licensed gunsmith and manufacturer. Owning and operating two licensed businesses has taught me accountability, safety, attention to detail, and the importance of earning trust, values I bring to everything I do.
I currently serve as a board member for the St. Clair R-13 School District, where I have built a clear voting record of standing up for taxpayers while supporting teachers and student success. I believe in fiscal responsibility, transparency, and making decisions that put students first without overburdening families. I also serve as a director for Crawford Electric Cooperative helping oversee critical infrastructure and long-term planning for our region. In addition, I’m a trustee of the Owensville Gun Club, where we focus on safety, responsible leadership for youth, and supporting our veterans.
After two failed ECC propositions, our community has spoken clearly. People want leadership that listens, earns trust, and respects taxpayers. I believe East Central College must refocus, re build credibility, and prioritize what truly matters- Skilled Trades, workforce education, career training, and affordable pathways to success.
With income taxes and personal property taxes under pressure, schools and colleges will face difficult budget decisions. These choices require steady, experienced leadership with a proven record of responsible votes and common-sense judgment to ensure every dollar is spent wisely.
As an East Central College Trustee, I will stand up for Students, support workforce education, and protect taxpayers. For the past two years, I have attended ECC board meetings, taking the time to listen, learn, and understand the challenges facing the college. I will bring the same disciplined, accountable approach I’ve demonstrated in my voting record to ensure our college remains affordable, transparent, and rooted in community values.
Most importantly, I want to show the next generation what’s possible through hard work, dedication, and service. I’m running to give back, to lead responsibly, and to help build a strong future for our community.
I’d be honored to earn your vote.
