We are so proud to celebrate Natavan Aliyeva, whose proposal has been accepted for presentation at the International Conference on Learning and Collaboration in Academia (ICLCA) 2026 in Salt Lake City! 🏔️🐂

Natavan will be presenting "Rethinking Math Support: A Coaching Model to Address Foundational Gaps and Improve STEM Success" — a program she developed right here at USF's Academic Success Center. 🔢✨

Her Peer Math Coaching program is changing the way students engage with math by helping them:
📐 Strengthen foundational math skills
💪 Build confidence in STEM
🤝 Receive support that goes beyond traditional tutoring

At ICLCA 2026, Natavan will share how the program was built, the resources created for students and tutors, lessons learned, and exciting plans for future expansion. 🚀

Calling all thesis and dissertation writers — this one is for YOU! 📝🌟

Join us for a 3-day online writing retreat designed to give you dedicated, structured time to focus on your writing with the support of a facilitator right there with you! 🙌

Here's how it works:
📌 Two 3-hour block writing sessions each day
☀️ Morning Session: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
🌤️ Afternoon Session: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
💬 Quick 5–10 minute breakout sessions with a facilitator for writing concerns as needed

🏆 Congratulations, Hanieh Toutouni! 🎉💚

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Hanieh Toutouni, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science and Engineering at USF, who received the Best Paper Award at the 2026 ACM International Conference on Supercomputing (ICS 2026) in Belfast, Northern Ireland! 🌍🐂

Her award-winning paper, "OCTANE: Breaking the Neighbor-List Bottleneck in GPU Molecular Dynamics," introduces a groundbreaking GPU-native molecular dynamics framework that:

⚡ Eliminates the traditional neighbor-list bottleneck using an octree-based spatial indexing approach
🚀 Achieves up to 16× speedup over LAMMPS on an NVIDIA H100 GPU
💾 Substantially reduces memory usage
🔬 Enables simulations with up to 10 million atoms

This research is pushing the boundaries of what's possible in large-scale scientific simulations — and putting USF on the world stage. 🌟

Huge congratulations to Hanieh and her co-authors Suman Chakraborty, Yicheng Tu, and Jiajun Huang on this outstanding achievement! 🤘
