Sun Devils, we know this past year hasn’t been easy. Despite these challenges, we want USG to be a resource for you. As we transition back to in-person this fall, we want to do so safely. We know how important in-person community engagement is to the physical and mental health of students. The Better, Bolder, Brighter team is committed to creating a safe environment for every student next semester.

DID YOU KNOW? USG manages an annual budget of more than 2 million dollars made up of your student initiated fees! That’s a lot of money and the Better, Bolder, Brighter team wants to make sure every penny is being used to support your success. We’re going to cut wasteful spending, expand funding opportunities for clubs and professional development, and support projects to enhance campus safety.

As an ASU student, USG provides you with funding to support your academic and professional career.

$500 for travel expenses per year ✈️
$600 for club funding per semester 🏆
50% reimbursement for graduate exam expenses 📚

Unfortunately many students don’t take advantage of these opportunities. The Better, Bolder, Brighter team wants to make sure every student has access to the resources they deserve. We want to remove barriers and streamline the process to increase accessibility.

Let’s make sure we using student fees efficiently and effectively. Join us for a ! @ Arizona State University - Tempe

I am a first-year student studying Mechanical Engineering! I previously served as the Vice President of the Governor's Youth Commission, focusing on the issues such as education, distracted driving, substance abuse, civics education, human trafficking, bullying, and teen dating violence/domestic abuse. I am running to be your Fulton Senator so that I can continue to address these problems that are faced by ASU students. Beyond my work with the GYC, I developed a passion for civics education and civic engagement. I conducted a senior research project on civics education that extended from October 2019 through May 2020. During my project I was hired to be a campaign manager for a State Senate campaign, making me Arizona's youngest campaign manager at the age of seventeen. I will have an especially important role as a Fulton Senator since Engineering students have among the lowest rates of civic engagement, and that is a challenge that I am ready to take on!

Join me and let’s make ASU ! @ Arizona State University - Tempe

♻️ Fun fact: Did you know the ASU Student Pavilion was designed as a Net Zero Energy building and delivers green qualities including renewable energy, energy-efficiency and Zero Waste?♻️

For the past six years, ASU has earned the ranking of #1 in innovation. This is because we have prioritized sustainability to make our campus healthier and greener. The Better, Bolder, Brighter team believes we have made significant progress but there is still work to do. We will work to promote sustainable initiatives on campus that will reduce pollution, energy consumption, and waste in order to decrease our carbon footprint. We have a responsibility to ASU and surrounding communities to build a sustainable future for the next generation.

Join the Better, Bolder, Brighter team and help us build a sustainable campus and community!

As both a student at ASU and your future senator I am committed to making University as affordable as possible. This can come in the form of legislation I will propose as a Senator at ASU, or even voicing support of legislation being proposed at the state level at Arizona’s legislature.

This week I submitted a letter to the editor to be published at the State Press in support of Representative Becky Nutt’s House Bill that would authorize Arizona’s community colleges to offer four-year degrees to their students.

I believe that this could drive down tuition by creating more competition between public universities and community colleges.

For those who are already enrolled in an Arizona university, this would hopefully create competition between state universities and community colleges. HB 2523 would put community colleges at equal footing with its larger competitors when it comes to students choosing what university they want to enroll at.

As a candidate for USG, along with the slate, I have recognized several key issues within the grasp of Student Government’s ability to create change for the better at Arizona State University.

✅ PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE INITIATIVES ON CAMPUS

The ASU Student Pavilion was designed as a Net Zero Energy building and delivers green qualities including renewable energy, energy-efficiency and Zero Waste.

❎ PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH AN OPTION TO OPT-OUT OF THEIR UNNECESSARY STUDENT FEES

Many ASU students haven’t attended a single in-person class this semester, let alone used ASU facilities, or even set foot on campus. Despite only 20% of students attending classes in-person, students are required to pay hundreds of dollars in fees for campus amenities. Students should be offered an option to opt-out of these fees during the process of paying tuition before the semester begins, especially for students who choose not to attend in-person classes.

✅ USE STUDENT FEES EFFICIENTLY

In addition to an opt-out policy in regards to students paying the fees, the fees amount to massive amounts of money that should be utilized efficiently.

✅ MAXIMIZE IN-PERSON COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

I support ASU’s push for more in-person opportunities. I recognize students’ demand for more in-person opportunities on campus.

✅ SUPPORT STUDENT WELLNESS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

ASU has reflected COVID numbers well below its surrounding community. I support ASU in maintaining this while also recognizing that student wellness extends beyond physical health. We must support our Devil’s mental health as well.

✅ SUPPORT STUDENT VETERANS

Our student veterans have made a sacrifice for us that we will never be able to repay. We must create the best community for our student veterans to feel welcome and be engaged in an academic setting.

✅ INCREASE TRANSPARENCY OF USG

Many Sun Devils are unaware of what USG is, what its function is and what services it offers. It is part of my mission to make sure students are aware of the immense opportunities that they are offered at ASU.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions about my vision as your Senator at USG.
