從優華語到台灣研究！本處拜訪 UCI 開啟台美學術合作新篇章 🤝🇺🇸🇹🇼
馬處長於8月13日率教育組前往拜會加州大學爾灣分校（UCI），與該校副校長 Lars Walton 及全球事務辦公室主任Lily Wu等主管會談，期盼進一步擴大台美高等教育合作！✨
UCI不僅是全美申請人數第四多的頂尖大學，在學術排名、科研實力、綠能永續、及推動社會階級流動等面向皆有傑出表現，更是橘郡在地最重要的學術與醫療樞紐。👩⚕️🧑⚕️
校方特別分享了與台灣多所頂尖大學的深厚情誼，包括與政治大學的教師交換計畫、與成功大學合作的「台灣優華語計畫」，以及與中央大學、中興大學及台灣大學等多項學術與研究合作。🏫
馬處長也向UCI介紹了教育部「台灣研究計畫」，期盼未來能與 UCI 展開進一步合作，將台美學術交流由語言學習延伸至政治、歷史、社會文化等更廣泛的學術領域。
此外，Walton副校長也分享了 UCI男子籃球隊目前在台灣參加瓊斯盃賽事的精采動態，展現台美兩地在學術與體育交流上的密切連結與深厚情誼！🏀
本處將持續全力扮演橋樑角色，深耕南加州高教資源，期待未來與 UCI 及台灣各大高校攜手開創更多元、豐碩的合作成果！🤝🇺🇸🇹🇼
From Huayu BEST to Taiwan Studies! TECO in LA Visits UCI to Open a New Chapter in Taiwan-U.S. Academic Collaboration 🤝🇺🇸🇹🇼
On August 13, Director General Ma visited the University of California, Irvine (UCI) to meet with Associate Chancellor Lars Walton and Chief Global Affairs Officer Lily Wu to discuss expanding higher education partnerships!
As the fourth most applied-to university in the United States, UCI excels in academic rankings, research capabilities, sustainability, and social mobility, while serving as a vital academic and healthcare hub in Orange County.👩⚕️🧑⚕️
During the meeting, UCI leaders highlighted their deep-rooted ties with top universities in Taiwan, including faculty exchanges with National Chengchi University, the Taiwan Huayu BEST Program with National Cheng Kung University, and various academic and research collaborations with National Central University, National Chung Hsing University, and National Taiwan University.🏫
Director General Ma introduced the MOE’s "Taiwan Studies Project," expressing hope for future collaboration with UCI to broaden academic exchanges beyond language learning into political science, history, culture, and other diverse fields.
Additionally, Associate Chancellor Walton shared updates on the UCI basketball team, currently competing in the William Jones Cup in Taiwan—a great testament to the strong academic and athletic connections between both sides!🏀
