After winning that race in 2015, she ran unopposed for a second term with a focus on coastal restoration, the expansion of the film industry, protection of the commercial and recreational fishing industry in Louisiana, the growth of tourism, and improving the image and the quality of life of St. Kerri’s commitment to St. Bernard did not begin in the political arena but in service to her community. She was the Chairman for the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce, co-founded Leadership St. Bernard, is secretary/treasurer of the Save Louisiana Coalition and serves as a Foundation Board Member at Nunez Community College. Kerri’s talents and skills are also evident in her business acumen. She is the managing partner for Callais Ice Service and the owner of an ever-growing real estate investment company. A graduate of Archbishop Hannan High School and Southeastern Louisiana University, Kerri earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science. A fierce advocate for coastal restoration, Kerri’s work has been featured in an array of publications including The Lens, Coastal Angler, and Marsh & Bayou Magazine. Kerri has been dubbed a “Coastal Warrior.” because of her leadership in both coastal restoration and as an advocate for a robust USA Offshore Energy industry. As testament to her strength and class, Kerri was also named as a “Steel Magnolia” by New Orleans Magazine. And while she appreciates these titles, she is most proud to be called mom and wife. Her tireless energy and love are all devoted to her twin daughters Mia and Olivia and her husband, Franklin Kyle. Kerri’s mission for over a decade has been not only to improve the quality of life in St. Bernard for both residents and businesses but to also ensure that St. Bernard is respected and heard in our region and state. She is looking forward to continuing and enhancing those initiatives as St. Bernard’s next Parish President.
