On March 22, we had the honor of hosting a beautiful Founders Day brunch for Delta Gamma. We honored our founders, Anna Boyd Ellington, Eva Webb Dodd, and Mary Comfort Leonard, who formed Delta Gamma in 1873 at the Lewis School for Girls in Oxford, Mississippi.

It was such a meaningful time to come together and celebrate the values and legacy that continue to shape our sisterhood. We were especially grateful to have our incredible alumni and dedicated advisors join us as their presence, wisdom, and continued support mean so much to our chapter.

Moments like these remind us how special it is to be part of something that spans generations. Thank you to everyone, especially the Graduate hotel for their hospitality, for making this day so memorable!

Our chapter hosts many philanthropy events throughout the year benefitting Service for Sight, which helps protect and preserve eyesight for those of all ages. One of our most notable events, Anchor Splash, brings together fun, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

Anchor Splash is a large event in which members of different Greek, athletic, and student organizations participate to benefit our philanthropy. Teams will go head-to-head in a series of relay races, swimming games, and a synchronized swimming competition.

Whether you’re competing, cheering from the sidelines, or supporting the cause, Anchor Splash is all about community, leadership, and impact.

Anchor Splash will be help on April 19th at 5 p.m. at McCoy Natatorium. We would love to see everyone come out and support Service for Sight! If you would like to donate, the link is attached below!

For 46 hours, we stood together united by one mission, one cause, and one community at THON.

THON is more than a weekend event. It is months of dedication, fundraising, and unwavering commitment to supporting children and families impacted by childhood cancer. This year’s theme, Love Leads Forward, reminded us that when we move with love and purpose, we create lasting impact.

We are incredibly proud to share that Delta Gamma and Delta Upsilon were honored as the second top donor organization, raising an extraordinary $418,870.21 For The Kids.

Together, THON 2026 achieved a historic total of $18,841,726.53. Every dollar reflects the dedication of our members, the generosity of our supporters, and the strength of the families who inspire us daily.

We are grateful for every person who stood with us, supported us, and believed in our mission. Love truly leads forward.

We wanted to take this opportunity to tell you about our involvement with Penn State THON and let you know how you can get involved, if you would like to!

In exactly four days the THON community will participate in a 46 hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon.

Penn State THON is the largest student run philanthropy in the world! We raise money for their sole beneficiary, Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children's Hospital, which provides complete support for families with pediatric cancer patients and funds cancer research.

Please join us in celebrating the countdown to THON 2026 by donating through the link below!

Primary Recruitment was a meaningful and rewarding experience for our Delta Gamma chapter. Throughout the week, we had the opportunity to connect with potential new members while sharing the values that guide our organization and strengthen our sisterhood. Each conversation, round, and shared moment reflected the genuine bonds, leadership, and commitment to service that define Delta Gamma! We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed their time and energy to making Primary Recruitment such a success, and we are proud to showcase the strong, values-driven sisterhood we continue to build together.

A look into our Philanthropy Round of Primary Recruitment:

Our national philanthropy, Service for Sight, has been at the heart of our mission since 1936, when Delta Gamma member Ruth Billow petitioned to adopt “Aid to the Blind” as our official philanthropy, which is a legacy that continues to inspire us today.

Service for Sight supports the five schools founded by Delta Gammas that serve children who are blind or visually impaired, as well as other North American organizations that promote sight preservation, conservation, access, and advocacy. Through fundraising, hands-on service, and awareness efforts, Delta Gammas work to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others and live out our motto to Do Good.

Service for Sight reflects our values of friendship, responsibility, and social impact. Whether we’re making puffy paint cards, fundraising through "Donuts with DG", or participating in Anchor Splash, we are proud to support a cause that creates opportunities and improves quality of life for individuals with visual impairments.

As you go through recruitment, we hope you see how deeply our sisterhood embraces service — not just on campus, but in the world around us.

Welcome to the official page for Delta Gamma Alpha Chi Chapter at Penn State University!

Delta Gamma was founded in 1873 with a purpose rooted in doing good — a motto that still guides us today. From our beginnings at the Lewis School for Girls in Oxford, Mississippi, our founders chose the Greek letters ΔΓ to represent our commitment to Do Good — a principle that has defined our sisterhood for over 150 years.

Our mission calls us to foster high ideals of friendship among women, promote educational and cultural interests, create a true sense of social responsibility, and develop in each other the best qualities of character. These values shape how we lead, serve, and support one another, on campus and beyond.

We are excited to use this account to connect with other sisters, alumnae, and friends! On this page, we will be posting stories of our sisterhood, highlighting events supporting our philanthropy, Service for Sight, and achievements of our chapter and members! Thank you for following along and inspiring others to Do Good!
