Congratulations to Dr. Jessie Zarazaga, Clinical Associate Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at SMU Lyle, on receiving the Outstanding Long Paper Award at the International Society of the Learning Sciences, alongside co-authors Dr. Anthony Petrosino (SMU Simmons) and former SMU postdoc Dr. Max Sherard (UNT).
This award — the highest honor in its category — recognizes field-based research in humanitarian engineering. The winning paper explores how students develop engineering knowledge through community engagement and cross-cultural collaboration during their ongoing project in Tanzania.
