In December of 2010, the student governments of Lincoln University, the Pennsylvania State University, University of Pittsburgh, and Temple University met to establish the Pennsylvania Association of State-Related Students (PASS), a joint coalition of student bodies representing over 100,000 students in the Commonwealth. The organization was founded in reaction to the cuts to higher education prop
osed by the Governor and later passed by the legislature, contributing to increases in tuition. Today, our fight for the students of the Commonwealth still goes on as the budget impasse in Harrisburg threatens the livelihood of many of our constituents. With no budget, our institutions are suffering from budget holes and our students relying on state aide have been stricken with an additional financial roadblock to an education. Together, we have taken on the cause of fighting for an affordable and accessible education for the students of our state-related institutions of the Commonwealth.
