The 2024-2025 edition of the Quaestio History Undergraduate Journal is now available! But first, a word from the Editor-in-Chief -

The 16th Edition of Quaestio, with the cover of all sorts of people, including workers, visitors, and more against the background of what was to become Powell Library, similarly covers a wide range of peoples, regions, and topics. From discussions of modern depictions of Marie Antoinette to the experiences of ho******ic desire in seventeenth-century Ottoman Society to the lives of students at UC Berkeley more than sixty years ago, this year's Quaestio is the culmination of work of nine undergraduate history students and a five-person editing team that sought to highlight exceptional works coming from the department. For many of these students, their articles built off of existing research from their classes, theses, and personal interests, all coming together to create nine unique pieces that showcase the importance of undergraduate research. From the editing team of Quaestio, we hope that you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed working with the writers and putting the journal together, and maybe you will learn something new in the process.

Quaestio Editor-in-Chief
