A new era of Saint Mary’s aquatics starts today! 🌊

Saint Mary’s men’s water polo plays its first-ever match today, kicking off an inaugural season. And they’re already making a splash.

Despite never playing a game, the Gaels enter the season ranked No. 20 nationally.

They start with a challenge: Saint Mary’s opens play today at a tournament in San Diego, including against the top two teams in the nation.

The Gaels will play a full schedule and looks forward to home matches at the world-class Soda Aquatic Center in Moraga.

And this is just the beginning for the 2026–27. Men’s and women’s swimming will join the lineup this winter, followed by women’s water polo in the spring.

We hope you’ll follow along throughout this historic first year. See you on the pool deck! 💙❤️

Move-In Day is here! Along with decorations snack, bedding and room fans, and way too many clothes—new Gaels bring their anticipation, nerves, and dreams. What a day to be a Gael!

One of our all-time favorite Gael stories! A new freshman moved into the same exact dorm room his mom lived in at Saint Mary's. Thanks to Cooper '27 and Amanda '92 Karabian for sharing their story in Mitty 227 with us a few years ago!
