Another Topper Teacher making the spotlight! Great work Julia Hendricks!

Meet Teacher Fellow Julia Hendricks. Julia’s Exchange Teacher had this to say about her:

“Julia is kind-hearted and joyful! She is very intentional with each student and makes it a point to learn about their needs and build relationships. She takes time to listen to everyone and help them solve their problems. Her classroom is full of energy and exciting activities every day. She is not afraid to try new ideas and strategies with her students. Julia is very organized and intentional in her planning. She is open to feedback and ideas to help her students move forward. She is a hard worker and will do amazing things in her future. All students need a compassionate teacher like Julia!”

Ms. Katy Potts ('12) teaches Art in Del Valle ISD. She is an outstanding example of the types of graduates our program is fortunate enough to have. Funny, articulate, professional, and passionate about teaching. Transitioning to online instruction just provides another way for Ms. Potts to share her creative side...enjoy her video and draw a chimera if you dare!

How can it be? Despite our small size as a teacher prep program, SEU beginning teachers earn a disproportionate number of school and district awards for their efforts and dedication to their students. I just counted 36 recent awards for our teacher alum who have won either teacher of the year for either the entire school district or their campus, or teacher of promise for exceptional work as a first-year teachers, or other impressive recognition from colleagues and supervisors across the state. Amazing work and please contact Dr. Fletcher if you have received an award for your work. We love celebrating the successes of our family!

Hello Educators,

KE Camps is a company that runs summer day camps at country club all across the country especially in the Austin area. They offer FUN, flexible summer seasonal employment to college students who either are focusing on working with children as a future professor or just LOVE working with kids!

This could be a great opportunity for students studying education at St. Edward's University. For more information about KE Camps and the official application, it can be found at www.kecamps.com or if any of you are interested in speaking to Dylan Morris, a staffing coordinator, his phone number is 877-671-2267 and email is [email protected].

Hello Fellow Educators!

Leander ISD is proud to announce that they are hosting a Teacher Job Fair on Saturday, April 4th!

At the job fair, participants will have the opportunity to meet with 44 campus principals and numerous department leaders. We will be conducting on-site interviews the day of the fair. For teachers looking to land in the Austin area, this is a must attend event!

Leander ISD is located 20 minutes of Northwest Austin and is the 9th fastest growing school district in the state. They are adding over 1,000 students each school year. In fact, they will open a new school every year for the next 5 years. As you know, growth means job opportunities!
