Theta Chi at UNL We are the Alpha Upsilon chapter of Theta Chi at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln We are always recruiting and would love to hear from you.

The Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Theta Chi was founded in 1925 and recently became reinstalled on campus here at the University of Nebraska. We strive to follow the tenets of Theta Chi Fraternity and foster a brotherhood that has existed since 1856. Alpha Upsilon is a group of men whose focus is growing and continuing this tradition. As a recently installed chapter we intend to grow and prosper; only

All 3 Apollo 11 astronauts were affiliated with a Greek organization.
All but 2 US presidents since 1825 have been fraternity members! (Can you figure out which two haven’t been?)

Young men have chosen the path less traveled during their time as a collegian at their university. This has amounted to a plethora of success, which most contribute, in part, to being a part of a Greek organization in college!

Theta Chi’s position is that every person is due the same amount of respect and dignity regardless of race, creed, color, s*x, religion, handicap, s*xual orientation, or gender. However, as an organization, we recognize that a statement isn’t enough. In 2020, Theta Chi developed the Equity and Diversity Advisory Council with the sole purpose of promoting equity and diversity within Theta Chi’s membership and their collegiate communities. Times are changing and Theta Chi wants to be a part of that change!

In 2013, Theta Chi proudly announced their philanthropic partnership with the USO! Each year, chapters around the country raise money and host events to support our men and women overseas!

We strongly believe in a team effort and serving those who serve others and the USO does just THAT! They serve active service men and women overseas by keeping them connected with their families, supplying care packages, and assisting with reintegration into society once they return from their service!

April 10th, 1856, Theta Chi was established at Norwich University in Norwich, VT. Norwich University is a military institution, the birthplace of ROTC, and the first engineering university in the country. After a devastating fire on the campus, the University moved to Northfield, VT where it stands tall today. However, a monument dedicated to Theta Chi’s roots and origin at Norwich University can be found in Norwich, VT!

In 1902, Theta Chi went from a local organization to a national organization with the expansion to MIT.

Since then, Theta Chi has continued to expand, with over 240 colleges and universities being represented in the US and Canada and 180,000+ Alumni nationwide!

We are forever grateful to our two military cadet founders, Arthur Chase and Frederick Norton Freeman!

The second person from our IHQ who will be here this fall is Nick Bottiglieri! Nick graduated from ΙΘ/ University of Central Florida in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He enjoys soccer, golf, and traveling in his free time! Nick will be coming to Lincoln at the beginning of September and is looking forward to recruiting and getting to know the school!!

We’re excited to be redeveloping our ΘΧ chapter on UNL’s campus!!! We have 2 Field Executives from our IHQ who will be assisting with this redevelopment! The first person is Hunter Gaglio, from ΙΓ/Grand Valley State in Grand Rapids, Michigan! Hunter graduated from GVSU in 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Spanish! Hunter is a recent recipient of the Resolute Man Award as well! He is excited to assist with this operation and looking forward meeting everyone on campus!!
