New Episode Alert!
What happens when a student doesn’t have a laptop or struggles with math? At Chemeketa, we don’t let them face those challenges alone.

In this episode of Chatting with Chemeketa, guest host Marie Hulett and Les Wielgos talk with Jennifer Cox about how the Chemeketa Library supports students with the tech and tools they need to succeed. Then Leslie Maksun gives us a tour of the Math Hub—where tutoring, testing, and encouragement add up to student confidence.

Clackamas Community College President Dr. Tim Cook is running more than 1,500 miles to all 17 Oregon community colleges to raise awareness—and funds—for student basic needs like food, housing, and child care.

He’s expected to arrive at Chemeketa around July 21, and we’re inviting our campus and community to come cheer him in as he finishes this leg of his incredible journey! 📣🎉

Let’s rally together and show our support for Oregon’s community college students and the resources they need to thrive.

About Chemeketa Community College

The Meaning of Our Name

You can learn a lot about Chemeketa Community College by understanding the meaning of our name. Chemeketa means "gathering place" in the local Native American language of the Kalapuya. We translate that as "place of peace." We interpret it to mean "you are welcome here."

Collaboration – We collaborate to ensure purposeful, effective programs and services that support all students. We welcome diverse perspectives and encourage the free exchange of ideas.

Diversity – We are a college community enriched by the diversity of our students, staff, and community members. Each individual and group has the potential to contribute in our learning environment. Each has dignity. To diminish the dignity of one is to diminish the dignity of us all.
