We're excited to share that Dr. Kevin Wong, Associate Professor and Chair of the MA in TESOL program at Pepperdine GSEP, has co-authored a new book—Generative Artificial Intelligence and Language Teaching (Cambridge University Press).

Designed for educators, the book offers practical strategies for navigating generative AI in language instruction. It’s available for free through July 11!

Congratulations to Dr. Reyna García Ramos, program chair for the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) at Pepperdine GSEP, on being honored by the California Association for Bilingual Teacher Education (CABTE) for her years of leadership and service as board secretary.

Dr. García Ramos was honored at her final board meeting as secretary, recognizing nearly two decades of advocacy for bilingual education and multilingual teacher preparation across California.

Her passion, leadership, and commitment to language equity continue to inspire future educators.

Today, we are proud to recognize Bernice L. Ledbetter (EdD ’05) as one of the distinguished alumni at this year’s ceremony. Dr. Ledbetter serves as the dean of students and founding director of the Center for Women in Leadership at the Graziadio Business School. She oversees three Master of Science programs at the school—Organization Development, Management and Leadership, and Human Resources—and teaches courses in organization theory and management.

Dr. Ledbetter also serves as co-chair of the Graziadio Diversity and Belonging Council. A sought-after keynote speaker, she has addressed audiences at organizations such as ESPN, AEG, Amgen, and Farmers Insurance, among many others.

As a widely published researcher, her work has appeared in numerous academic journals and media outlets, including HuffPost, Business Insider, Reuters, and the Journal of Leadership, Accountability and Ethics. Read more via Pepperdine Newsroom.

You may know him as the original drummer of Maroon 5, but Ryan’s story goes far beyond the stage. Today, he’s a licensed marriage and family therapist, author, speaker, podcaster, and mental health advocate—dedicated to helping others find clarity, resilience, and purpose in their lives.
