On Saturday, June 7, faculty from the UCLA Paramedic Program had the profound honor of attending the Service of Gratitude hosted by UCLA’s Donated Body Program. This deeply moving ceremony unites the families of donors with students from across the health sciences—including first-year medical students, paramedic students, and other future healthcare professionals—to honor and celebrate those who made the extraordinary decision to donate their bodies to medical education. These generous individuals, often referred to as “silent teachers,” provide invaluable lessons that no textbook can convey. Their selfless contributions shape the education and empathy of future physicians, dentists, paramedics, and many others. Our paramedic students carry their gratitude for these teachers with them always. More info: https://ow.ly/3y5O50WgSQk

On Friday the 27th, tune in to the free livestream of the next PCRF Education Journal Club. Join the panel as we discuss the paper, “Exploring the Use of Immersive Simulation to Teach Research Skills to Student Paramedics in Higher Education: A Mixed Methods Approach!” Within paramedic education immersive simulation is widely used to teach technical skills, but its application to non-technical aspects of practice, such as research skills, is limited. This study explored immersive simulation as a tool to teach specific research skills to paramedic students in higher education. https://ow.ly/X7vb50WcTq9
