On this day in 1907, Katherine Nelson, RN, BS, MA, EdD, was born. A pioneer in cancer nursing education, Nelson developed the world’s first advanced clinical program and the first university-level cancer nursing course. She also played an influential role in the early development of ONS, serving on its advisory board and mentoring its founders.
