We’re excited to spotlight the recent field mission to Cairo led by Nesma ALI, Josh Wimpey, and Phoebe W. I. from the World Bank Enterprise Survey team.

From April 6–10, the team partnered with the Social Research Center at The American University in Cairo (AUC) to conduct a comprehensive training for local field staff.

This mission marks the launch of the Egypt 2025 survey round, which will collect vital data to better understand the private sector’s challenges, performance, and potential across the country.

team members Ziad Ghandour and Domenico Viganola recently traveled to Albania to train Ipsos, the vendor selected to implement the 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱!

The training took place from April 9–12, 2025, preparing the Ipsos team to launch high-quality fieldwork in the coming months.

📊 From May to December 2025, the team will conduct 360 interviews with randomly selected private businesses across Albania to better understand the local business climate, firm dynamics, and challenges faced by entrepreneurs.

🔍 Why is this work important?
The survey data will be made publicly available through the WBES Website (https://www.enterprisesurveys.org/) and data portal to support evidence-based policy reform and private sector development. The data will feed into the World Bank’s 2026 Business Ready Report.
