These fellowships provide remarkable opportunities for students interested in further academic study, as well as for those pursuing careers in public service, teaching, scientific research, engineering, journalism, international relations and a host of other fields. Research The Center for Undergraduate Fellowships and Research also promotes the involvement of GW undergraduates in research experiences that allow them to learn firsthand, through interaction with faculty mentors and graduate students, how knowledge in their fields is generated. Research experiences often position students to compete for prestigious fellowships or to pursue advanced studies.

Check out this update from Elliott School of International Affairs student Iris Bercovitz! She's in Myanmar as a Global Community Fellow for Volunteers in Asia.

And, yes, she met Bono.

Iris Bercovitz is a recent graduate of the Elliott School who is now working in Myanmar through Volunteers in Asia's Global Community Fellowship. As a fellow, Iris teaches English to adult students at Inle Lake Heritage Vocational School. There, she has actually been able to meet a famous face!

Studying abroad in Japan in Fall 2015? Apply for the Bridging Scholarship!
$2,500 (for students on semester-long programs) or $4,000 (for students on academic year programs).

In addition, Morgan Stanley Japan will offer two scholarships of $7,500 to students who have an interest in economics and finance, who will study in Japan for the entire 2014-2015 academic year, and who submit a supplementary research paper.
