Brothers Mateo Portelli (UNLV ‘25) and Jack Walker (Ole Miss ‘25) at the 2025 Congressional Baseball Game for Charity ⚾️

This past April, Mateo and Jack represented Phi Delta Theta during the 2025 FGRC Capitol Hill visits and met with Members of Congress and staff to advocate for freedom of association for Greek life students and safe, affordable fraternity and sorority housing. There has been no shortage of Phi Delts who have pursued a career in public service. Many Phis have served in various roles over the years at the local, state/province and federal level in both the U.S. and Canada.

This past weekend, the Pennsylvania Beta chapter of Phi Delta Theta at Gettysburg College celebrated 150 years (1875-2025). As the oldest active chapter in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, this is a remarkable achievement. The celebratory evening was filled with a video tribute, remarks from various alumni, awards and gifts to the chapter, a Phi Delt serenade, and so many shared stories about the bonds of friendship through the years. Thanks to all who helped organize, and everyone who attended. Here’s to 150 more!

Phi Delta Theta was proud to participate in this week’s annual efforts to advocate for legislation in support of the fraternity movement. Undergraduate Phi Delt delegates from Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Cal Poly, UNLV, and Penn State joined over 100 fellow fraternity/sorority students in meetings with U.S. House/Senate members and staff. In addition, the delegates met with alumni including General Council President David Almacy, Treasurer Nat Love, former Rep. Jim Slattery (Washburn), Andy Ho (Utah) and Virginia Lambda CAB member Rick Shelby (SWOSU). On the last night, they attended the 20th Anniversary Gala celebrating two decades of civic engagement in Washington.
