Harvard dental student finds his niche in community care

Ryan Lisann, a D4 student at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, believes the three-month externship he spent treating pediatric patients at Charles River Community Health confirmed his decision to pursue a career in pediatric dentistry. Lisann hopes early dental education can address disparities in oral health outcomes.

“Seeing patients arrive at a clinic, particularly young children, with a mouth full of cavities is incredibly disheartening. It’s clear that education is part of the solution,” Lisann said.

Advice on Applying to Dental School:
Hello everyone! My name is Parisa and I started blogging about my journey in dental school. I attended ADEA's Capitol Hill Day last week and I have written about my experience as well as the issues that we lobbied for in case you want to read more about it:

Follow up to an earlier post about not having received any correspondence since my fee waiver assistance application was submitted to your facilities on June 21st. Thank you.
ADEA GoDental, I am a current dental school applicant to 13 dental programs and have sent in a fee waiver application to the address listed on your website: 2019 ADEA AADSAS FAP 655 K Street N.W. Suite 800 Washington, D.C. 20001 The USPS sent me text notifications about my packages arrival at your address and notified me that it was delivered on June 21st, 2018. Today is July 31st - which means more than a month long wait. On your website and on the instruction forms for the fee waiver it states that you will have a response for an applicant within 4-5 business days. You can see my confusion as to why I have not heard back. Please let me know why I have not heard back, or even if I was not qualified to receive fee assistance (which I doubt), but which I am willing to hear over literally no correspondence to my multiple emails. One of which was sent on June 28th, and another sent yesterday. I'll include pictures. I would appreciate it if you would make this a priority. By way of information, I will be sending a message as well to ADEA GoDental through Facebook Messenger and will include my CAS ID#. Thank you.
