Notre Dame Plans to Reopen Its Campus in the Fall

Hey Alumni, Notre Dame opening in person classes August 10 which is earlier than usual, without breaks, to minimize the chances for students to bring the coronavirus back to school.

Cal is still wrestling with this. UC Berkeley Chancellor Carol Christ expects the school to adopt a “hybrid plan” for the fall semester, with some classes in person and others online.

What do you all think Cal should do?

The university said on Monday that the fall semester will begin and end earlier than usual, without breaks, to minimize the chances for students to bring the coronavirus back to campus.

His speech highlighted how the antiwar and civil rights movements transformed America but still had much work to do. Ronald Rael, an architecture professor at UC Berkeley, co-designed the "Teeter-Totter Wall" to sit at the border of Mexico and the US in 2009. Initially meant to illustrate "the futility of building barriers" for a book, "Borderwall as Architecture," this binational seesaw became a reality ten years later. Read more below.

My wife and I are letting go of our DC apartment as we have bought a place. Does anyone know of summer interns looking for an apartment in the U Street area? The lease is from June 1st until August 5th. Early move in can be arranged. The apartment lease can be renewed in August if folks are looking to live there longer. If interested please see the following link:
Hi everybody! I just graduated from Cal last May. I will be finishing up my master's degree at Georgetown University this summer, so I am looking for a summer sublet (mid-May/early June - mid-August). I'm currently in VA, but I'm hoping to relocate closer to Georgetown's campus. I would like somewhere that is furnished and within walking distance of the university (parking spot is a bonus!). My budget is $800-$1000. I am open to single/double rooms. A little about me: I'm originally from California. I love meeting new people and trying new things. I thoroughly enjoy eating, exercising, keeping up with Grey's Anatomy, and hanging out with friends. Please PM me if you have anything available :) Go Bears!!!!
Hi DC Cal Bears, Looking to fill the master bedroom of a 3 bed/3 bath townhouse in downtown Clarendon by March 1st. The room includes a connected bathroom, walk-in closet, a private living room, and a balcony. There is a washer/dryer in unit and a gym in the building. The townhouse is two blocks away from the Clarendon metro, while also steps away from Clarendon's restaurants, stores, and nightlife. For more information, check out the Craigslist ad:
Hi everyone! I help organize a conference for graduate students and postdocs in chemistry at the University of California that takes place at the end of March, and part of the program is about career development. We invite a few people who have interesting careers outside of academia to meet the students so they can learn about their career options, and we would really like to have someone who works in science policy or government this year. Does anyone know someone who is a UC alumnus, with a chemistry background who moved into a policy/government career who would be a good guest speaker? The invited speakers can get their conference fee and travel expenses covered if needed, and it’s a beautiful location and a great program. We even have a Nobel laureate as one the keynote speakers this year! Please let me know if you are or know someone who would be a good candidate, and you can find more information at www.ucchemsym.org and we appreciate your support.
