After two years of existence FLP’s impact includes facilitating 13 volunteer events through our partners, training 59 volunteers who have volunteered 285 hours and educated over 385 DC residents. FLP members have facilitated financial literacy curricula to elementary, middle school, high school and adult learners, in English and Spanish, in private, public and charter schools, and in all DC quadrants.
In 2012, the Financial Literacy Program was honored at the GWSB Business Gives Back Event, putting FLP in the public eye for the innovative ways students and alumni are using their business acumen to address local and global issues.
In 2012, the program’s founder, Amir Abdallah, was selected to receive the Student Impact Award as a result of his efforts.
