Another successful event it was! This month’s PMIWDC Washington Circle Luncheon hosted by the GW MSPM and the GW PMA attracted 54 project managers from the greater DC area. The event was held yesterday, July 25 from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM at the GW School of Business.

Guest speaker Arthuretta Martin discussed How Telling a Story can Persuade, Inspire, and Train Professionals. Her presentation covered how storytelling for corporations has become a respected subject matter. Those that have the ability to instruct corporate and government professionals on the art and science of storytelling are in increasing demand. There is a science to how our brains process information when it is as told as a story versus when information is shared as facts.

We thank Melody Peppard, MBA-MSPM student, for her invaluable support to our program. Melody volunteered her time to successfully present an overview of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games planning cycle. This created a captivating event with the experiences she learned from her Study Abroad. Her presentation, held on April 6 at the GWU School of Business, was attended by MSPM and MBA students, faculty and staff who gained an enormous amount of information that can be used in future projects.

About Melody Peppard.

Melody attended the 2018 Winter Games as a GWU study abroad student. She is currently finishing the dual degree program (MSPM and MBA) with a certificate in data analytics this Spring 2018. She is an Aerospace Systems Engineer for Boeing with approximately 20 years of industry experience.

Thanks again Melody for your generous support to MSPM!!!
