The Boilers took a quick trip to the Cookeville, TN to compete in the Prof. Lidvall Memorial Livestock Judging Contest. Every judging contest is special, but this one has become one of our favorites to attend. The quality of classes, Rookie Division for underclassmen, and steak dinner afterwards make for a great weekend. Thanks to all of the supporters and organizers that make this event possible!

Thanks to Everhart Herefords and the Indiana Beef Evaluation Program for providing great practice opportunities on our way south!

Congratulations to Matthew Strange and Zachary Lang for receiving the 2026 Greg Raun Scholarships!

Greg attended Purdue University and graduated in 1987 with a degree in Agricultural Economics and a minor in Animal Sciences. While at Purdue, he was a proud member of the livestock judging team and Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Greg contributed much of his knowledge in the cattle business to his experience gained through livestock judging.

This scholarship was a vision of Greg's before his passing in 2023. He believed in the value of the livestock judging team experience and wanted to reward students for their hard work with scholarships. Thank you to Greg's parents, Art and Ruth Raun, for their work in making his vision a reality.

Congratulations to all of the participants of the 2026 Indiana State Fair Market Hog Judging Contest! We are so excited by the great turnout from this contest and enthusiasm for judging.
