The 55th Eastern Regional Conference in Baltimore was one for the books!

Connecting. Learning. Leading. Serving. That was the vibe as the Westchester Alumnae Chapter gathered with sorors from across the Dynamic & Historic Eastern Region for a weekend of sisterhood, service, leadership, and conducting the business of Delta.

Our sorors returned to Westchester refreshed, refueled, and ready for the year ahead, inspired by the connections strengthened, lessons learned, and shared commitment to making an impact in the communities we serve.

Baltimore filled our cups, and now we’re ready to get back to work!

Here’s to another year of Mobilizing a Movement: Strengthening Community Partnerships, Expanding Our Reach, Increasing Our Impact. ❤️

🎉 Congratulations to the Westchester National Pan Hellenic Council on another successful Steve Schmitt Greek Picnic, held on August 1 at Ridge Road Park!

What an amazing day of fellowship, service, and giving back to our community! Together, we raised $1,762, providing the equivalent of more than 3,336 meals, and our Food Drive collected 318 pounds of food, equating to an additional 265 meals.

Total Community Impact: Approximately 3,626 meals to help address food insecurity throughout Westchester County!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, participated, and supported this incredible effort. Your generosity and commitment continue to demonstrate the power of unity and service.

Together, we are making a difference because we are ! 🖤💛🩷💚❤️🤍💜💙🤎

Westchester Alumnae encourages you to see PROOF before it closes this week. The show touches on culturally relevant issues like living with mental illness and what it means to fight for your professional worth as a Black woman. Both Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle give amazing performances!

Disasters don’t plan, but we can.

On Saturday, the Westchester Alumnae Chapter’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) Committee hosted a Community Preparedness Workshop in Mount Vernon in partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. More than 55 community members came together to learn practical strategies, access valuable resources, and strengthen their preparedness for emergencies and disasters.

Knowledge is one of the most important tools we can share, and we are grateful to everyone who invested their time to become better prepared for themselves, their families, and our community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to our ERT Committee for leading this important effort to build a safer, more resilient community.

Thank you to everyone who attended "Know Your Rights. Protect Your Home: A Forum on Discrimination in Housing." Together, we learned about fair housing rights, available resources, and ways to advocate for equitable housing opportunities in our communities.

As we prepare to commemorate Juneteenth, we are reminded that the pursuit of freedom includes access to safe, fair, and equitable housing. Advancing housing justice is an important part of continuing the work of ensuring that all individuals and families have the opportunity to thrive without discrimination.

Special thanks to our partners, the Westchester County Human Rights Commission and the NAACP New Rochelle Branch, as well as Social Action Co-Chairs Aisha Cook and Rashida Cartwright-Thigpen and the Social Action Committee for making this important conversation possible.

On Saturday, members of Westchester Alumnae proudly joined fellow community-based organizations in the City of White Plains Juneteenth Parade, celebrating freedom, community, and the power of civic engagement.

As we marched through the streets, we shared Juneteenth memorabilia that highlighted the importance of early voting and reminded attendees that our voices matter. Our chant echoed throughout the parade route:

“Your vote, your voice, our Founders helped you have that choice!”

It was a beautiful day to be in community, united in purpose and committed to impact. Juneteenth calls us not only to remember the progress won through sacrifice, but also to exercise the rights secured through that struggle.

We celebrate freedom by showing up, speaking out, and ensuring that every voice has the opportunity to be heard.
