We Walked with Purpose. Now, Let’s Finish Strong!

The Westchester Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was proud to step out in support of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk!

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Sorors, family, friends, and community supporters who walked alongside us, made donations, and helped raise awareness. Every step represented our commitment to honoring survivors, remembering those we have lost, supporting those currently fighting, and standing with the families and caregivers who walk this journey with them.

The walk may be over, but our opportunity to make an impact continues!

In recognition of our founding year, we set a fundraising goal of $1,913. Thanks to your generosity, we have raised $1,193, and we are just $873 away from our goal!

Here’s the challenge: If just 39 supporters contribute $22.40 each, we can cross the finish line together!

With Election Day approaching and important local, state and federal races on the ballot, area residents will have an opportunity to hear directly from candidates and compare their positions when the Westchester Black Women’s Political Caucus, Greater Peekskill Area Chapter (WBWPC-GPA), presents its annual Candidates’ Forum on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The forum will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ford Administration Building, 1031 Elm Street, Peekskill, NY 10566, as part of the Greater Peekskill Area Chapter’s celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Westchester Black Women’s Political Caucus. The Westchester Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated mourns the passing of Reverend Lamont S. Granby, beloved pastor of First Baptist Church of Bronxville and husband of our dear Soror Felita Granby.

Through years of chapter meetings, events, service projects, and worship, Pastor Granby always made us feel at home. His warmth and kindness gave us more than a place to gather; they gave us a sense of family.

We hold Soror Felita, the Granby family, and the First Baptist congregation close in love and prayer. May God's abiding presence sustain you, and may the memories of his love and goodness bring comfort in the days ahead.

We will remember him with grateful hearts.

Service in Action✨

The Westchester Alumnae Chapter was honored to serve alongside our community partners during our monthly food insecurity collaboration at the Slater Center on Saturday, September 12. With music elevating the atmosphere, we cooked up and served a hearty, scratch-made breakfast—complete with fresh eggs, bacon, sausage, and warm pancakes, paired with hot and cold beverages—to over 100 local residents.

We were especially thrilled to be joined by U.S. Congressman George Latimer (NY) and White Plains Common Council Member Nicholas "Nick" Wolff, who stopped by to greet those in attendance and share in the morning's fellowship.

True community care means showing up, breaking bread, and working hand-in-hand with our leaders to ensure our neighbors are nourished and supported. Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves to make this morning so impactful!

The 55th Eastern Regional Conference in Baltimore was one for the books!

Connecting. Learning. Leading. Serving. That was the vibe as the Westchester Alumnae Chapter gathered with sorors from across the Dynamic & Historic Eastern Region for a weekend of sisterhood, service, leadership, and conducting the business of Delta.

Our sorors returned to Westchester refreshed, refueled, and ready for the year ahead, inspired by the connections strengthened, lessons learned, and shared commitment to making an impact in the communities we serve.

Baltimore filled our cups, and now we’re ready to get back to work!

Here’s to another year of Mobilizing a Movement: Strengthening Community Partnerships, Expanding Our Reach, Increasing Our Impact. ❤️
