WSU Tech was proud to host the 2026 Metallica Scholars Initiative Meet-Up in Wichita, welcoming representatives from community colleges across the U.S., Guam and the United Kingdom. 🤘

One of the most meaningful parts of the week was hearing directly from students and seeing the impact this initiative continues to have on those pursuing life-changing careers.

We were also proud to showcase Wichita and the partnerships, industries and people that make our community such a special place to live, learn and work.

Thank you to All Within My Hands Foundation, American Association of Community Colleges, our partners and everyone who joined us for a week of connection, collaboration and workforce education.

So proud to see WSU Tech students Sabasgin and Jakhia recognized as mikeroweWORKS Work Ethic Scholarship recipients.

They’re both training to become pilots, and we’re excited to see where their hard work takes them.💛

A first for WSU Tech. A first for Kansas. 💛

WSU Tech’s National Center for Aviation Training has been named the 2026 recipient of the Frank G. Brewer Trophy by the National Aeronautic Association, one of the nation’s top honors in aerospace education.

This marks the first time the award has been presented to a two-year technical college and the first time it has been awarded to a Kansas-based organization!

We are incredibly proud of our students, faculty and industry partners for helping shape the future of aerospace right here in the Air Capital. ✈️🇺🇸

Wichita has helped shape American aviation for over a century, and at WSU Tech's National Center for Aviation Training, that legacy continues with every student who trains here.

On National Aviation Day, we're growing that legacy even further. ✈

The WSU Tech Foundation's capital campaign is expanding NCAT, so more students can be part of what's next in the sky and beyond.

The WSU Tech Foundation has officially launched the final phase of the Accelerate. Innovate. Aviate. Capital Campaign, supporting the continued expansion of the National Center for Aviation Training.

This work means more space for students to learn hands-on, build real-world skills, and prepare for careers in Wichita's aviation and advanced manufacturing workforce.
