This year marks 72 years since the Supreme Court's landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision and the fight for educational justice is far from over.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated's Educational Development Subcommittee of the National Program Planning and Development Committee will host a webinar tonight, May 18, 8–9:30 PM ET, bringing members and allies together to protect and advance federal educational equity protections.

Seventy-two years after the ruling that changed America, we gather at a critical crossroads — ready to advocate, mobilize, and reclaim justice in education.

Today, the women of Williamsburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. proudly represented during the Today Show 3rd Hour visit to Williamsburg, VA as our historic city prepares to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. 🇺🇸❤️🤍

It was inspiring to stand alongside Sorors from across Virginia and be reminded that Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has always been a part of history — and continues to help shape it. For over 112 years, Delta women have remained present, purposeful, and powerful in every space we enter, ensuring our voices are heard and our communities are represented.

From civic engagement and education to advocacy and service, we continue to show up, lead boldly, and maintain a seat at the table while creating space for future generations to do the same.

Today was more than a moment on television — it was a reflection of legacy, excellence, and the enduring impact of sisterhood.

🕊️With profound sorrow, the Williamsburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. announces the passing of our beloved Soror, Linda Matthews King.🕊️

Soror King was initiated into Alpha Eta Chapter (Virginia State University) on November 20, 1971, and remained a faithful, active, and devoted member of our sisterhood throughout her life. Her legacy of service, leadership, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to our chapter and community will forever be cherished.

A recipient of the Greek of the Year Award (2016 & 2023) and the Iris S. Judkins Sisterhood Award (2022), Soror King faithfully served on numerous committees, including Technology, Policies & Procedures, Nominating, and Scholarship. On October 26, 2025, Soror King was ordained as a deacon at New Zion Baptist Church. Her impact on our chapter and the lives of those she touched will never be forgotten.

We invite our community, family, friends, and fellow Sorors to join us as we celebrate the beautiful life and enduring legacy of Soror Linda Matthews King.
