If you find yourself with some free time before conference starts, make your way over to Illy (435 W Duke of Gloucester Street) from 1-5 pm to participate in our profit share! IRCares selects one charity organization to support throughout the year, and this year we are very happy to be supporting Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg. A percentage of all sales to WMHS participants will be donated back to Habitat at the end of the weekend, so consider grabbing a pick me up (and showing this graphic at checkout) today to support a great cause!

IRCares votes on an organization every year to raise funds and awareness for. This year, IRC has chosen the Avalon Center, which is an organization on campus that “works to end domestic and sexual violence by breaking the cycle of abuse through prevention, education, shelter, and support services in the greater Williamsburg and Middle Peninsula communities.” In support of this initiative, we will be hosting a profit share at Baskin Robbin’s (416 Prince George Street), with a portion of our profits going towards the Avalon Center. We urge all delegations, individuals, staffers, or anyone who wants ice cream to come out after committee or maybe before the delegate dance!

Such little time left until WMHSHYPE truly commences…but until then, last and certainly not least, is our SECRETARY GENERAL, Beatrice Ladrón de Guevara. Beatrice is a Junior from Indianapolis, Indiana, majoring in International Relations at William and Mary. She previously served on WMHSMUN ###VII’s secretariat as Chief of Staff and is honored to be returning this year as captain of the ship. Outside of IRC, Beatrice is a member of William and Mary’s chapter of Delta Gamma, and an avid pilates enjoyer. She is overjoyed to welcome every delegate, sponsor, and staffer to this year’s WMHSMUN.
