Benefit of WSPTA membership: 3 recital opportunities for your students beyond what your own studio provides. It’s a chance to play with students from other studios. These events are what we call Young Artists’ Musicales. For 2026-2027, they happen on the Sunday afternoons of November 1, February 21, and April 18.

If you teach piano in the Triad, consider joining us for 2026-2027! We offer several opportunities for member teachers and their students such as: 3 community recitals, Fall Festival, our annual Moxley Piano Competition in the spring, scholarships for summer camps, 5 membership meetings for teachers with special programs, and usually at least one other special event. This past Friday was our final members’ meeting of the academic year. Our special program was our 2nd annual member teacher performances! A special thanks to our member, Dr. Barbara Lister-Sink, for loaning us her studio at Salem College even though she couldn’t attend in person. If you’re a local piano teacher, consider joining us this summer!

Congratulations once again to our Moxley Competition winners and their teachers! Thank you to the Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship of Winston-Salem for hosting the competition, and to Parkway United Church of Christ for hosting the winners’ recital! That’s a wrap on our season. Our 3rd and final Young Artists’ Musicale of the academic year was yesterday. Congratulations to all the students and their teachers for their wonderful performances! Special thanks to Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Lewisville for use of their facilities for all 3 events.

Our teachers enjoyed and learned a lot from Dr. Annie Jeng at our most recent membership meeting! Her program was Bridging Warm-ups Through Repertoire.
