Full Sail Armada recently partnered with Special Olympics to help bring gamers, streamers, and content creators together in support of the organization’s mission, continuing a relationship between Full Sail and Special Olympics that began several years ago.

The partnership builds on Full Sail’s involvement with Special Olympics’ first major esports event in 2022. When the organization began exploring new ways to connect with the gaming community through streaming platforms like Twitch, Armada leadership helped Special Olympics navigate the space and develop a model for a creator-driven fundraising campaign.

Congratulations to the 75+ Full Sail alumni who lent their talents to EA SPORTS College Football 27!

The release of EA SPORTS College Football 27 gave football and gaming fans something to cheer about – new mascots and team chants, enhanced rivalry games, new light shows, and more were added to enhance the player experience – and 76 Full Sail grads were credited on the game. Alumni from degree programs like Game Art, Computer Animation, Recording Arts, Game Development, and more helped bring the game from the development studio to players’ screens.

Grads like Alanna Berklund (Senior Engineering Manager), Will Dull (Lead Software Engineer), and Chukwuka Nwobi (Senior QA Tester) helped ensure that the game’s back end worked seamlessly. Chris Penny (Senior Technical Artist) helped bridge the gap between the game’s technical and artistic needs.

Christian Brandt (Design Director), John Galindez (Senior Lighting Director), and Douglas Hagstrom (Animation Department Director) helped develop the game’s look and feel. Grad John Hughes helped the game’s actors deliver solid performances as a Speech Director, and Troy Simpson and Kyle Burt worked on the game’s sound as an Audio Lead and Senior Audio Artist, respectively. Juan Chavez assisted in the design of the football players as a Senior Character Director.

Even more graduates worked in roles like recording engineer, quality designer, and experience designer, helping to make College Football 27 a notable release in the franchise.
