We host this blood drive with profound respect for a pioneer in medical history, Dr. Charles R. Drew.
Not only was he a prominent and beloved member of our fraternity, but Dr. Drew was also a brilliant surgeon and medical researcher who revolutionized blood collection and storage. His groundbreaking work on blood plasma and blood banks is directly responsible for saving countless lives during World War II and laid the foundation for the very blood drive systems we use today.
