Sustainable development in the new context has attracted worldwide interest at both macro and micro levels. The world is facing unprecedented challenges for sustainable development such as infectious diseases, climate change, food insecurity, supply chain disruption, energy shortage, etc. With these geo-political, economic, social, and environmental instabilities, new issues have been rising at both country and firm level for achieving sustainable development. From country-level perspectives, digital, inclusive, and green growth and other outstanding affairs have been integrated. From firm-level perspectives, amidst the fragile macroeconomic environment and business fluctuation, firms have been trying hard on improving corporate ESG during the digital transformation process and finding out optimal solutions for rising matters as well. The issues of sustainable development at the firm-level are intertwined with those at the country-level.
The international conference on "Sustainable Development in The New Context: Country and Firm Level Perspectives" is co-hosted by Foreign Trade University (Vietnam) to address the interconnected issues mentioned above. The conference will provide a platform for debates on contemporary issues for academics, professionals, and graduate students to exchange the latest research findings, to share international experiences, and to propose policy recommendations for both developing and developed countries to reach the targets of sustainable development.
We welcome submissions related to the theme of ICGE 2024 including but not limited to the following aspects:
- Inclusive or resilient development, green growth, ESG framework;
- International trade and investment patterns in a new context;
- Global supply chain disruption and recovery, inflation, energy crisis;
- Climate change, biodiversity catastrophes, net-zero carbon path;
- Poverty reduction, food security, the welfare of ageing nations, unemployment, human development, debt management;
- Technological adoption and digitalization process;
- Business and public policy responses and actions;
- International, global, regional, and cross-country commitments and solutions.

The conference will be held at Foreign Trade University, Vietnam (Online via Zoom platform if necessary).
