! Trinity Catlin is an incoming student in the 74th cohort of LMU’s English Graduate Program. She is graduating from LMU undergrad with a bachelor’s in English. In the future, she hopes to publish her own work and serve as an editor for others in the publishing industry - both areas that a master’s degree in the creative writing track will help her explore. Yesterday evening, we celebrated the incredible impact Dr. Gail Wronsky has had over her 36 years at LMU. At her retirement party, Dr. Paul Harris and his students presented artwork inspired by Gronk watercolors and accompanied by poetry from Professor Wronsky. The evening included poetry readings and heartfelt comments from many of Dr. Wronsky’s longtime colleagues. We will miss her inspirational presence on campus, but are excited for the next step in her journey!

! Jomar, English M.A. Candidate class of 2023, is a finalist for the 2023-2024 Fulbright U.S. Student Program. He will take part in the English Teaching Assistant Award program and is being considered for a position teaching English in Taiwan. Way to go, Jomar!

As we approach the end of the year, it’s time to start appreciating the accomplishments of our amazing students! The English Department will be hosting its annual award ceremony/commencement bash/end-of-the-academic year celebration on Saturday, 22 April, at 5:00 PM in the West Atrium of University Hall.
Undergraduate Seniors will also be included.
We will have an awards presentation, but the event is for all graduating seniors and all M.A. students (first and second years). We will have food, beer, and wine.
Please reserve the date on your calendars. More details will follow later. Hope to see you there!
