Congratulations to our Vice President for Planning and Research Maria Fay Nenette Cariaga for being conferred with the title of Founder Fellow of the Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA) College of Pharmacy, Philippine Chapter.

Prof. Cariaga is among those who will lead high-level training initiatives and advance the role of pharmacists in healthcare in the country.

Founded in 1964, FAPA is the largest regional organization in Asia that brings together pharmacists from all fields and practice settings.

Congratulations to Vice President for Planning and Research Maria Fay Nenette Cariaga for being conferred with the title of Founder Fellow of the Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA) College of Pharmacy, Philippine Chapter.

The Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations College of Pharmacy (FAPA CP) is a pioneering organization that serves as an advanced training platforms for pharmacists across member countries of the Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA). Established in 1997 as an affiliate organization of FAPA, FAPA CP has been at the forefront of shaping the future of pharmacy practice in the region.

UMak hits a major milestone!

100 SCOPUS-indexed publications achieved!

The University of Makati has successfully produced 100 research articles indexed in Scopus, one of the world’s leading abstract and citation databases.

This achievement reflects one of the several initiatives under the 10-point agenda of University President Elyxzur Ramos - to develop a stronger culture for research and reinforce UMak's commitment to becoming a research-intensive institution.

The milestone demonstrates the collective efforts of UMak’s faculty members and researchers, facilitated by the Center for University Research, whose dedication and scholarly work have significantly strengthened the university’s research output and global academic visibility.

Our students from the Institute of Psychology presented their research paper at the International Conference on Life Education and Well-Being (ICLEWB 2025), organized by The Education University of Hong Kong.

Their participation reflects the growing involvement of UMak students in international academic forums and their commitment to advancing research on life education, mental health, and well-being. We commend our students for representing the University and contributing to meaningful global conversations in psychology and education.

We look forward to seeing more student research engagements in the coming year and to their continued contributions to the international research community.

Our students from the College of Governance and Public Policy presented their research paper, “Comparative Analysis of Ukraine and Israel Drone Innovation: Security and Defense Policy,” at the 3rd NDCP Research Conference, organized by the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP).

Held under the theme “Deterrence in a Complex Security Landscape: Alliances, Inclusivity, and Future Frontiers,” the conference brought together scholars and practitioners to examine emerging security challenges, defense partnerships, and the evolving nature of deterrence. The students’ participation reflects UMak’s growing contribution to policy-relevant and security-focused research.

We look forward to more student research initiatives in the coming year and to their continued contributions to the national and global research community.
