With temperatures rising in Oregon, your plants are feeling the heat too.

Water deeply in the early morning so roots can absorb moisture before the heat of the day. Shade cloth from garden centers can keep plants up to 10 degrees cooler and protect them from sunburn. Hold off on fertilizing during extreme heat to prevent adding stress to your plants.

And don’t forget yourself. Drink plenty of water and avoid heavy outdoor work in the hottest part of the day.

Stay safe and cool out there. For more tips on protecting yourself and your plants during extreme heat, visit https://beav.es/xZs.
