The Literature & Critical Theory Students’ Union invites students of all disciplines to submit their work to our 4th annual academic conference. 📚
This year’s theme is “Envisioning the Earth: Exploring Eco-Criticism and Environmental Relations."
Over the past two years, we have been asked to isolate ourselves from each other and the outside world. If we were to venture outside of our homes, we were encouraged to do so at a distance from others, and often to gather outdoors, in the ‘fresh air’ as much as possible. With this ongoing alteration of our experience of the ‘outside world,’ and the ever-increasing concerns surrounding Global Climate Change in mind, we ask what is our relationship to our surroundings and the Earth? How does the rise of interdisciplinary domains of study like Eco-Criticism reflect or aid in our understanding of the connection between the human and the non-human? What role does media play in our relationship to the Environment?
Any form of work is welcome so long as it demonstrates an academic impulse and includes a treatment of literature.
