This is an open call for anyone interested in taking up a leadership position within our club. We have several positions open, so if you see something you would like to apply for, please respond to this post with the following:

An officer will reach out to you about setting up a time to talk about your desired position, expectations, and answer any questions you may have. Please see the list of open positions below.
Officer Positions:
Treasurer
The Treasurer shall keep a current record of all financial transaction; and
The Treasurer shall develop a quarterly finance report containing a list of all receipts and disbursements.
The latest report shall be maintained in a master file
The Treasurer shall be responsible for checking the accuracy of all bills and invoices and ensuring they are settled on time; and
The Treasurer shall coordinate fundraiser; and
The Treasurer will perform other duties as directed by the President
Sergeant At Arms
The Sergeant At Arms shall maintain order during meetings as necessary.
The Sergeant At Arms shall be well versed in Robert's Rules of Order Revised, Latest Edition, to ensure the rules are followed.
The Sergeant At Arms shall have the authority to remove an unruly person from meetings if necessary.
Director of Public Relations
The Director of Public Relations shall handle daily communication, advertising and promotion of the SVO; and
The Director of Public Relations shall produce marketing materials for the SVO and organizational events; and
The Director of Public Relations shall produce press releases and forward them to the proper organizations for all events of the SVO; and
The Director of Public Relations shall oversee all social media and web pages that are in direct connection with the SVO.
Chairperson Positions:
Membership
The Membership Chair is responsible for processing membership; and
The Membership Chair is responsible for conducting membership drives to increase and promote SVO membership
Education
The Education Chair is responsible for creating study groups that enhance the member’s probability of success as students.
Services
The Services Chair is responsible for creating programs for member wrapping, veteran integration seminars, organization guest speakers; and
The Services Chair is responsible for disseminating knowledge that addresses veterans' needs issues that will enhance their probability of success as students.
Community
The community Chair is responsible for creating programs and events for philanthropy and community promotion and community awareness.
Advocacy
The Advocacy Chair is responsible for obtaining and disseminating information on issues that affect student veterans; and
The Advocacy Chair is responsible for leveraging the organization to affect local, state, and federal policy when in the best interest of the organization.
Currently, we have weekly staff meetings on Fridays at 10am. This day and time may be subject to change from semester to semester, depending on schedules. If you would like to ask questions, feel free to stop by during a meeting, or reply to this post. Thank you!
