The University of Glasgow Medico-Chirurgical Society is a student society at the University of Glasgow which organises social and educational events for medical and nursing students at the University. Founded in 1802, we are one of the oldest medical societies in Scotland ad we were formed twelve years before practising physicians and surgeons in Glasgow began to meet for formal instruction. urrent President (2025-26) is Rohaid Riaz

Our events run on Thursday evenings and range from Scrubby; our annual subcrawl wearing scrubs, to more educational offerings such as OSCE revision nights. We have a passionate and dedicated student committee who endeavour to bring you the best events possible. Look out for them wearing yellow T-shirts at our events. Life membership costs £80 and for this you get reduced entry to all our events, with free pints and soft drinks, as well as the chance to vote and run for positions at our AGM.

This Friday it’s time for our annual Scrubby … aka the best event of the year 🩺🍻🎉

Please read the slides carefully - they include all the key info for the night, including our zero tolerance policy.

Wristbands and maps will be give out in HIVE (GUU) from 5.30pm (you can head into Beer Bar too).
Maps + Òran Mór wristbands are £5, and ALL donations go to MSF (Doctors Without Borders) an incredible charity providing lifesaving medical care worldwide - so please donate if you can

Dress code:
First years - white lab coats
Everyone else - blue scrubs

Legs make it a great night, look after each other, and have fun 🫶🏻
