A great article about the research being done in Antarctica by the T***s Lab!

The University of Kentucky’s Nick T***s will lead an international research team studying Antarctic midges. The insects withstand the cold climate and the team is trying to find out if climate change has affected them.

An international team of researchers led by UK’s Nick T***s has received more than $700,000 from the National Science Foundation to study midges in Antarctica.

Two Entomology Students Won Tracy Farmer Forum Awards with Works Conducted in Western Kentucky
Izabela Gomes, and Yaziri Gonzalez the two entomology graduate student were awarded with the Tracy Farmer Institute for Sustainability and the Environment Sustainability Forum on December 6, 2018. They won the outstanding research poster at the campus-wide Forum based on their work conducting outreach programs with the Amish Community in Cerulean, Trigg Co. in 2018. Izabela and Yaziri conduct their field studies in Princeton. Izabela works with the soybean stem borer and Yaziri with the stink bugs affecting soybean in the Villanueva Entomology laboratory.
