Here’s a glimpse inside one of our CHC53315 Diploma of Mental Health in-person sessions.

In this part of the course, students take part in role-play activities that help them practise real situations they may experience in the mental health sector.

With support and guidance from their trainer, students can build their communication skills, receive feedback and grow their confidence in a safe learning environment.

These sessions are designed to help you move beyond theory and start developing the practical skills needed to support others with empathy, professionalism and a trauma-informed approach.

Learning goes beyond the textbook.

In our CHC52025 Diploma of Community Services, students build real-world skills by exploring topics that matter in the sector — like alcohol and other drug (AOD) practice. Through activities like class presentations, they develop their understanding of AOD contexts, legal frameworks, and evidence-based approaches used in community services.

Our students JD and Sean did a fantastic job presenting to their class, getting real-time feedback from their trainer Danielle.

This is Danielle, our trainer helping bring community services learning to life.

With a background in Criminal Justice, Danielle also works in the community service sector while teaching at Stirling Institute of Australia.

In our CHC52025 Diploma of Community Services, great training is about connecting learning to the realities of the sector. Through guided discussions, practical activities, and real-world insight, Danielle supports students to build the knowledge, confidence, and professional skills needed for community services practice.

For Danielle, helping students develop relevant communication and coordination skills that empower clients is a priority. She understands how crucial it is for workers in community services to balance multiple dimensions of care and for them to create safe and supportive spaces.

Students in our HLT43021 Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance have not just been buried in textbooks and theory but getting hands-on practice with assistive devices to help patients become independent.

One of the tools they use is a sock donner to help patients with hip precautions dress safely. The students don’t just practice showing patients how to use the device correctly; they also work on their communication skills to build warm, respectful relationships with patients. This also boosts patient confidence and autonomy.
