FIU Black Graduate Women's Association To promote the visibility of Black women in various graduate programs across campus and to strengthen relationships with each other!

The Black Graduate Women's Association (BGWA) at Florida International University (FIU) was founded to promote the visibility of Black women in various graduate programs across campus and to strengthen their relationships with each other across programs within the university. Our goal is to provide a safe space that fosters well being, dialogue, scholarship, community, and leadership development i

n the lives of graduate women of the African Diaspora on campus and beyond. We are committed to celebrating the successes and addressing the needs, unique challenges, and lived experiences of Black women, as well as those salient to the Black experience. We aim to serve members of the BGWA @ FIU community, collaborate with affinity organizations, and engage with the broader community through facilitated meetings, community discussions, and social gatherings.
