DescriptionBrought to you by the Class of 1996

You learned a lot at Cornell. And the years since, much from further study, work, and life. But the college application process has changed since we were in high school.

For an inside perspective on the application process today, join us via Zoom on Thursday, May 23rd at 8PM when Pamela Tan, Director of Undergraduate Admissions, will present “College Admissions Today”. This workshop will feature a look into how college applications are reviewed and include tips on completing a strong application. Q & A included. Insights guaranteed!

This event is free and open to all Cornell alumni of the ‘90s. Please note that this is not specific to the Cornell admissions process and will not be recorded.

As class officers, we dedicate lots of time and energy to hosting class events, planning Reunion, and keeping our classmates engaged with Cornell. While we may not volunteer for the accolades, I’m willing to bet we all love a little appreciation now and again!

With that in mind, we want to give you the opportunity to SHOUT OUT another class officer. Thank them for being fabulous, let them know how much you value them, or highlight how their efforts really make a difference.

Submit a shout out (or two, or three!) by Monday, April 15. We’ll pass along the messages of gratitude during Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 21-27.

Don’t be shy – let someone know you appreciate them today!

All my best,

Julie Vultaggio ’02

Hello Class of 1997!

I work closely with the Annual Fund Representatives to build class participation between reunions, and we are looking for some extra hands. Giving Day is coming up on March 14th and we are rallying class leaders to make Giving Day a success!

If you can give 30 minutes of your time, to help grow your class’s participation, email me to let me know. This program is a great way to build more class connections and create strong donor momentum between reunion years.

I hope you will join us! Let me know if you have any questions.

Best,
Braden

CBAA REUNION 2024!

Reunion is upon us! We are so happy to announce that CBAA Reunion 2024 will take place June 6th-9th, 2024 in Ithaca, NY.
The reunion’s theme will be On the Road to 50: Celebrating our Rich History while Looking Forward. Hundreds of Black alums will descend on Campus to enjoy signature events, including UJ Sweatboxes, panels, our family dinner, and Sunday brunch. As we countdown to CBAA’s 50th Anniversary celebration, we want to celebrate our collective history and legacy and
showcase our impact on campus and beyond.

Dear Class of 1997,

I am excited to share our final class giving totals for fiscal year 2023!

Class of 1997 Highlights
• 632 Donors to Cornell, including 423 to the annual funds
• 288 classmates have given for 5+ years consecutively!
• $2,658,781 raised, with $673,341 of that designated to one of the annual funds
• 264 funds supported across the university

As a whole, the university saw $55 million in annual fund donations and surpassed the $4 billion mark for Cornell’s To Do the Greatest Good campaign.

The generosity of our class and all Cornellians is an inspiration! By giving back, we uphold the legacy of those who came before us and make a lasting impact for future generations. A heartfelt thanks to all who gave last year!

Megan Clark Eisenberg ’97
Class of 1997 Annual Fund Representative

P.S. I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together for Cornell in the year ahead!

Cornell 2023 Non-Reunion Reunion
It's nearly summer and that means it's time for Cornell’s annual Non-Reunion Reunions!
Non-Reunion Reunions, or NRR for short, are celebratory gatherings in June during or near Cornell's Reunion weekend on campus. These events are for all alumni in the Classes of 1990-2012 who are not heading back to campus for their Reunion this year. This year, events will take place in Boston, New York City, Miami, Chicago, and San Francisco.
We invite you to reconnect and celebrate Cornell every year, not just at the five year marks. All NRR events are free of charge thanks to the Classes of 1990-2012 and the Cornell Association of Class Officers, who cosponsor these events.

Reconnect with old friends and meet new ones at an NRR event near you!
