CEM UPM STRENGTHENS STUDENT ENGAGEMENT FOR TALENT BOOT CAMP & POC HACKATHON URIIS 2026

13 May 2026, UPM – A meeting was held with the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development and Graduate Marketability (CEM) UPM to discuss the involvement of the Talent Boot Camp and student participation in the POC Hackathon for URIIS - University Research and Innovation Investment Summit 2026.

URIIS 2026 PRE-EVENT 4 ATTRACTS STRONG PARTICIPATION FROM ACADEMIA AND INDUSTRY

12 May 2026, Nilai – URIIS 2026 Pre-Event 4, hosted at Institut Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), marked another successful milestone in advancing collaboration between higher education institutions and industry players. The programme was organised by USIM in strategic collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia and the Department of Higher Education.

The session gathered a total of 89 participants, comprising 44 representatives from universities and 45 industry delegates. The encouraging participation demonstrated strong enthusiasm towards fostering innovation-driven partnerships, knowledge exchange, and impactful networking opportunities as part of the Road to URIIS 2026 initiative.

The discussion focused on strengthening implementation planning, technical coordination, and overall event operations to ensure a smooth and impactful delivery. Key areas included logistics, stage management, programme flow, and overall participant and delegate experience. This meeting reflects strong progress and the firm commitment of all parties to ensure URIIS 2026 is delivered in a well-structured, efficient, and high-impact manner.

MARDI SUPPORTS URIIS 2026 TO STRENGTHEN THE NATIONAL INNOVATION AND RESEARCH ECOSYSTEM

8 May 2026, Selangor — A presentation on URIIS - University Research and Innovation Investment Summit 2026 was held with the Deputy Director General of MARDI Corporation - (Malaysian Agriculture Research and Development Institute Corporation) to strengthen strategic collaboration among research institutions, academia, and industry players. In principle, MARDI has agreed to support URIIS 2026 through direct involvement, including participation funding assistance which will be determined at a later stage. This support reflects MARDI’s commitment towards empowering the nation’s innovation, research, and investment ecosystem through a high-impact collaboration platform.

ROAD TO URIIS 2026 | Strengthening Malaysia–China Strategic Collaboration

April 2026 marked another important milestone in strengthening Malaysia–China collaboration through the active participation of the Malaysian Pet & Aquatic Industry and Commerce Chamber (MPAICC) in two major international platforms held in China.

On 24–25 April 2026, MPAICC participated in the 2026 Pet Industry Ecological Innovation Conference organised by the Anhui Pet Industry Association in Anhui Province, China. During the event, MPAICC and the Anhui Pet Industry Association officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement to support Belt and Road collaboration and strengthen China–ASEAN industry cooperation. MPAICC also shared opportunities for industry–academia–research collaboration, including the international strengths of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and its Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

On 28 April 2026, MPAICC was also invited as a keynote speaker at the “Fujian Enterprises Leading the Way • ASEAN Investment Promotion Conference” in Fuzhou, China, where the chamber shared insights on Malaysia’s investment ecosystem and introduced URIIS - University Research and Innovation Investment Summit 2026 as an international platform connecting industry, innovation, research, and investment collaboration.
