The Peer Mentor organization is composed of upperclassmen who aid in the introduction of new students

The goal of this organization is to help equip new students with the tools they need to become successful in a liberal arts setting. Furthermore, the Peer Mentor organization recognizes the challenges facing new students and tries to make the college transition as smooth as possible by providing new students with a friend and mentor.

Did you know that was voted the Top Adventure College of the South? One of the coolest perks of being a Scot is our connection to the beautiful geographical location we are nestled in. Our friends at kicked off an early orientation cohort with a two-day adventure in the Southern Appalachian, Ocoee River! What an unforgettable experience it is! Introducing…..Emily Christian!!!

Hey y’all! My name is Emily Christian! I am a senior studying Business Management with a minor in Sociology. This is my 3rd year as a peer mentor and I am so excited to get orientation started! On campus I serve as a Resident Assistant in Gibson Hall, an Academic Mentor, and a Team Lead for the Admissions Ambassador Program. I am originally from Church Hill, Tennessee which is about 2 hours East of Maryville. I love to hammock, play volleyball, & go for walks in the college woods in my spare time! Introducing….Eden Hensley!!!!

Hellooo friends! My name is Eden Hensley and I’m a rising SENIOR at MC! My major is Psychology with Counseling and my minor is Criminal Justice! This is my 3rd year as a peer mentor for MC! I absolutely love meeting new students and showing them the culture and scenery of Maryville. My sweet spots on campus is the Maryville College Woods and the Library. My favorite activities to do are hammocking, mountain biking, hiking, and always down for a Netflix binge with some friends :) I’m apart of the leadership team for TRiO student support services, a member of the Student Conduct Board, a student library assistant for the MC library, and finally, a member of the Psychology Club! Im so excited to meet you all in a FEW days! Go Scots! ❤️🧡
